Your responsibilities will include:

As our Network Engineer you will effectively manage the day-to-day network operations in relation to the Information Technology department and assist in the effective and profitable functioning of the Information Technology department, in accordance with the policies and objectives of the credit union, under the direction of the VP Foundational Technology by:

•    Providing support for the credit union network, IP communication systems, cyber security controls and systems, and data center.  This includes planning, testing, implementation, ongoing maintenance and support, and effective operations.
o    Implementing the design of the logical and physical LAN/WAN network topologies
o    Adopting automation programmability to reduce manual processes and create efficiencies
o    Adhering to change management and inventory control policies

•    Deploying, configuring and monitoring network infrastructure to provide reliable connectivity for Credit Union systems.
o    Working with 3rd Party vendors to remediate network related issues with regards to optimal configurations and hardware failures
o    Configuring and maintaining Site-to-site and remote user VPN access
o    Configuring SD-WAN and VPN topologies
o    Managing software update lifecycle for network devices deployed within our retail locations
o    Deploying and configuring network infrastructure hardware at our locations within the Lehigh Valley and western New Jersey

•    Assisting with communication with networking vendors including hardware providers, software providers, and service providers.
o    Working closely with Internet Service Providers to provide consistent employee experience across our various locations.
o    Working with voice providers to troubleshoot and provision IP-based telecommunications.

•    Responsible for configuring, maintaining and updating Datacenter infrastructure.
o    Managing day-to-day operational datacenter tasks such as new port provisioning, software upgrades, and service turn-ups.
o    Maintaining datacenter switches, border routers, and VPN routers.
o    Assisting Network Security Engineer with managing Cisco ISE and Secure Firewalls.

•    Developing and maintaining a high level of technology-related acumen.  
o    Communicating technology-related issues to department members as well as other appropriate credit union employees when necessary.
o    Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of Information Technology practices, policies and procedures.
o    Ensuring that all documentation relevant to the technology and service areas listed above are accurate, up to date, and accessible by the appropriate parties. 
o    Maintaining appropriate certifications as necessary and performing additional duties as assigned in line with our core values.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

o    Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
o    3+ years of experience in networking / systems support
o    Advanced skills in networking and experience with the Cisco product stack
o    Local Travel (Greater Lehigh Valley) along with a valid PA Driver’s License.
o    Knowledge of networking concepts (switching, routing, TCP/IP), Internet Routing such as BGP, OSPF, Routing Policy, and Provider Relations 
o    Advanced Knowledge of SD-WAN platforms (preferably Catalyst SD-WAN),
o    Knowledge of switching platforms (Meraki/Catalyst/Nexus/Arista), network service protocols (DHCP, DNS, RADIUS)
o    Knowledge of Cisco ISE (or similar NAC solution), Cisco FTD (Secure Firewall), Meraki/Cisco Wireless Access Points
o    Knowledge of APIs, Python, and other automation foundations
o    Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving, oral and written communication skills. 
o    Ability to lift and move computer equipment. 
o    Technical planning and documentation skills.

Preference will be given to those who have: 

o    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
o    10+ years of experience in networking / systems support
o    Related advanced professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
o    Experience in Information Technology or related field in a financial service institution.
